Unique Facilities

Atlas Elektronik UK understands that integration and performance testing are a fundamental component in the cycle of producing successful equipment. We have developed a number of core capabilities for testing, integrate and accepting sonars, cables, signature sensors and submarine and surface ship systems.

Our test and acceptance capability extends from in house development testing to formal acceptance testing of integrated solutions such as towed array handling systems and dynamic cable systems. Additionally we provide a dedicated capability to the UK MOD for calibrating and accepting major sonars after platform builds, refits and upgrades.

State-of-the-art test and evaluation facilities are available to support the work of Atlas Elektronik UK. These include:

Bincleaves acoustic range

Our unique waterside facility at Bincleaves has been used for accepting various MOD equipment programmes such as the Seafox mine disposal and the REMUS 100 VSW system.

Non-magnetic test facility

Our non-magnetic test facility is unique in the Western world. It enables us to test and evaluate naval platform magnetic and electric signature control solutions early in the platform design cycle.

Acoustic test tank

The UK’s largest anechoic sonar test tank allows us to undertake an extensive range of acoustic development activities under fully controlled laboratory conditions.

Integration & test facility

The Atlas UK integration and test facility can be configured for a wide range of test and acceptance operations from full scale submarine towed array handling cycling to countermeasure discharge testing.
